Prof. Dr. Jan Mayer, born in 1972, is a sports scientist and qualified psychologist. As a sports psychologist, he has worked with top athletes from various disciplines for over 25 years, including individual athletes as well as national teams and professional teams. From 2008 to 2021, he worked as a sports psychologist for TSG Hoffenheim.
Since 2021, he has been Managing Director of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim Akademie GmbH. He is an honorary professor at the Institute of Sports Science at Saarland University.
Since 2020, he and Petra Johns have been managing partners of the Institute for Compassion gGmbH in Heidelberg.
